Your BINO Lists: and the July Listbuilding Challenge

Think where man’s glory most begins and ends,

And say my glory was I had such friends.

~ WB Yeats

You know who’s been writing BINO lists these last couple of weeks? Everyone. Welcome to the brave, new world of GH22-23 Season 1, where every arsehole with a keyboard is spending a quarter of their points on Krondspine and a Purple Sun.

The June Listbuilding Challenge did grab your interest and I got a lot of interesting responses to this one; so as always, if I haven’t published yours please don’t take it personally. I’ve got a couple of gems here that hit both aspects of the Challenge (competitive Krondspine and unmitigated meme) so let’s smash into it.

Yes, it’s another Seraphon list; and yes, we know already know that Seraphon are really, really good. Why this one is List of the Month material is because Tyson deserves his props for being the first person I know of to grab a Podium with old mate Krondspine, in the dying days of GH22.

Tyson saw Krondspine filling a role in Seraphon, and he backed it up at Rural Rampage. I think I’m right in saying that Ty ran the only Incarnate at the event – all of us could have taken it, but Tyson did it, and he’s got the podium to prove it (after playing for the win on Table 1, Round 5).

The list would no doubt change substantially in the new GH (Warscroll Builder has already ditched the old Battalions), but Tyson has confirmed that he would be happy to run Krondspine again in Seraphon for sure. You can read full coverage on the event over in NC Dave’s write up (linked above), so check it out.

In case anyone was wondering, I won this trophy for Best Destruction at the same event

BINO Spiderfang – Now with 44% Spiders!

Kraggy and Krondspine is the meme list that is secretly quite good, and what better to swarm around their ankles that a bunch of mobile screens that dish out Mortal Wounds and resurrect themselves? After reviewing Justin’s list I did look into the possibility of trimming out even more Spiders to squeeze Bundalicious in there, and although the points do fit, it’s not allowed because Krondy is classed as an Ally (which Merc Megas forbid). As I’m sure Justin was already aware.

I would happily run this myself at a one-dayer, and while I’d probably bust the reinforced units down to 5x MSU Riders (Screens: now with added screening), I can see the appeal in having a unit that spikes venomous damage in its own right before rezzing back through the Loonshrine into something half meaningful. Good on ya Justin, this is exactly what the spirit of BINO is all about!

Declan at Woehammer had a couple of interesting lists this month, but rather than printing them here, why not check out his own article on BINO themed lists over at Woehammer?

There’s some very cool stuff in there, and Declan is a legend in Gloomspite circles so go take a look.

July Listbuilding Challenge: New Shiny

Remember The Hunt? This interim balance patch gave bonus VPs to underdog factions who needed that leg up against the filth:

Well the good news is that all of the Prime Hunters factions are refreshed, renewed and reinvigorated. Skaven and Sylvaneth got their new books, and each of the others got some kind of glow-up in the GH and accompanying FAQ. I’ve had a lot of fun mucking around with Gloomspite and Bonesplitterz lists, so this month’s Challenge is very simple:

  • Show me your new GH22-23 Season 1 lists
  • They must come from one of the 6 factions that were Prime Hunters

Hey, can I include Krondspine and / or Purple Sun?

Yes, if you must. They’re both gonna be everywhere until the next update so if you want to embrace either or both, fill your boots. There’s no point in pretending they’re not a thing and they’re welcome (although by no means compulsory) in the July Listbuilding Challenge.

So that’s a wrap! Congrats to Tyson and Justin (both of whom are welcome to set a future Challenge if they so wish). I’ll be back next Friday with another article, so have a great weekend folks, and I’ll see you on the other side.

Cover image is my own WIP Purple Sun. I probably should have filled in the gaps, but let’s be honest it’s getting smashed by the nerfbat at the next update.
