Do you know the plural of Locus? Since the Andtorian Locus became a thing, I’ve seen people in group chats stumbling around with attempts like Locuses, Locus’s or just chucking in the towel completely and going with Locus’.
Well I’m here to help: the plural of Locus is Loci. And it’s not pronounced like Thor’s brother, the Norse God of Mischief. It’s pronounced with a soft “c”. So purely for illustration, it would sound like the last two words in this sentence:
“When my mate told he me he’d lowered himself to running Seraphon at an event, he couldn’t even look me in the eye, and I just responded with a low sigh.”
The Shout Out
Our guy Calvin Rarie knows his Orruks – and he’s not just good at writing about Orruks, he’s good at talking about them too. Anyone who’s painted a Bonesplitterz army will know that we’ve spent far too many hours putting Athonian Camoshade into green arse-cracks, and Calvin has doubled down with a tour de force video discussing competitive Bonesplitterz at length. Well worth a few hours of your time.
To give you a little flavour of the discussion, one cool idea they discuss is casting Hoarfrost on the Riders and Glowy Green Tusks on the pigs for a unit of Boarboy Maniaks with two separate melee profiles boosted to the moon. Great stuff.
Calvin’s also an active TO and has a great Teams event coming up, with a healthy attendance already secured and the last few tickets still available. Get around it.

Coming up on Plastic Craic
Big chunks of July were devoted to covering the GHB – I definitely recommend the articles on the new Battleplans and Endless Spells if you’ve not already read them. They’re a great on-ramp to life under this Handbook.
Looking ahead, we’re working hard on a good spread of articles:
- We’ll reflect on being a better opponent, by discussing the topic with two certified legends.
- The August Listbuilding Challenge is already underway, so whaddya waiting for?
- Pat Neven will present to you the mighty Cockatrice, and specifically its power as an ally within Chaos.
- I’ll be breaking down the Limited Resources battleplan with game-theory. It feels like a situation where there’s a right and wrong answer in how to approach it, so let’s tackle that.
- I also really want to push the short-read format: it’s been our goal since the relaunch to have a real spread of articles from deep discussions to lighter pieces. Let’s make August 23 the month where it happens, with some punchy coverage of individual magic and anti-magic tech.

Tales from the Craic House
Oh yeah, we renamed our members’ Discord server to The Craic House. This month we awarded the prize for our Patrons’ painting competition, so congrats to Xander for his winning entry of a gloriously technicolor Gaunt Summoner.
Not only can Xander bask in the immeasurable prestige, he gets to do so looking schmick in his unique Plastic Craic swag, created by our man Seanzor.
One highlight from the Destruction Dojo this month was seeing Taco and Clarkzium working on perhaps the coolest and most aggressive Sons of Behemat list I’ve seen yet. Keep an eye out for the next painting competition too, which will be themed around Andtorian Loci.
