Empires rise, and empires fall, all within the space of a few weeks. Since the last monthly update we’ve seen the Khorne book come out, seen Gorechosen sweep all before it, and seen it get smacked back down with a well-deserved nerf. So with that NPE express train put back in the depot, we can all relax. Right?
Well the good news is that as well as mining Gorechosen for content, the PC writing team cracked out another 5-0 last week when Calvin Rarie rode that pony all the way at Nashcon. Well done that man! Calvin stuck fat with the army post-nerf too, and took out a 4-1 result this weekend which was enough to win his GT. Were the Gorechosen nerfs enough? Fucked if I know, but somebody please nerf Calvin ASAP.
So what else has been happening here at the Craic House in August? Today we’ll run through that, plus a look ahead to what’s coming in September. Ready? Let’s go.

The big news was that we relaunched our venerable Listbuilding Challenge, and we got a deluge of great lists. Check out the parameters here:

The Ghyranite Treasures Hobby Contest
We extended the deadline for this competition to the end of September, due largely to my own incompetence. I obviously can’t win the prize but I’m taking part for fun anyway, with the theme in my case being hunting trophies that were bagged by Bonesplitterz.; the Arrow Boyz have brought down their targets, and now it’s time to tag ‘eg and bag ’em.
Other entries include an Ogor treasure horde from Andy Jennings, plus a banging wrestling-themed set that The Aussie Wargamer is working on – we’ll share the full results after the end of the month.
Footy Tipping: NRL is complete
Let’s hear it for Ben Liekefett, aka QLD Thunder who’s won the Plastic Craic NRL tipping comp for 2025. Ben officially knows more about League than anyone else in the Discord, and in the event of any dispute over the next 12 months he can throw that back at anyone.
Ben’s prize will be a Blood Bowl team of his choice. The Aussie Rules H&A season is also wrapped up, but we have a two-way run off between Luke Doman and Brodie Pain that will run through Finals to determine the overall winner. Well done to both – and Luke has stolen an early lead by trusting the Pies. Good man.
